🗣Oral Advocacy🗣 Before starting the Bar practice course, one thing I heard and saw repeatedly was that the course was unlike Law during undergrad, due to the emphasis of how practical the BPC is... Whilst I was informed this, I was pleasantly surprised about how much we would be able to practice our advocacy skills, both written and oral during small group sessions ✍️ 🗣 As I am going into an area of Law which is heavy on courtroom advocacy, this has been invaluable experience and has given me the necessary skills for great advocacy, such as effective witness handling, cross examination, etc Having these practice assessments and small group sessions has allowed me to become a lot more confident in my oral advocacy skills and I am constantly reminding myself not to become discouraged where I feel something could have gone slightly better My top tip for oral advocacy sessions is to avoid preparing a script and instead create prompts for yourself on points you want to expand on, which allow you greater flexibility in your delivery💡 Doing this has helped me so much and has allowed my advocacy to be a lot more effective! 🙌🏾 . . . . . . #law #lawstudent #onlinelearning #bpc #llm #lawschool #advocacy #studygram #study #futurelawyer #futurebarrister #barpracticecourse #criminallaw #lawstudytips #lawstudying #masters #mastersdegree #studygrammer #lawschoollife #lawstudygram #tips #motivation #instadaily #lawblog #blogger #onlineschool #unioflaw #student
