So u_law are doing a #GenerationOnline competition, for current students, such as myself, to show off their “best study setup”, and everyone’s so far have looked great! But it did get me thinking, as I began to declutter my desk (not completely, but just enough to create a perfect square photo), why should my space look like everyone else’s? This is my reality right now as I battle rising anxiety and sleepless nights in order to comprehend just one element of a topic. It’s books strewn across my desk, it’s a coffee cup that needs to go in the wash, and pens appearing where they don’t belong. It’s chaos, but would you believe me when I say it’s organised? Ask me to find a pen, any pen, and I’ll have it in your hand. Ask me for a scrap piece of paper containing a very specific note on a statute I haven’t documented anywhere else and I’ll slip it out from a stack of similar looking notes with no problem. This is my study space, and I suspect the study space of a lot more students out there than are willing to admit it to be so. And that’s ok! This is my study space that has gotten me 5/6 units so far at distinction level, and is working for /me/. So if you feel disheartened looking at the perfect set ups being posted as exams start to creep closer, just remember that P.s.
