Happy Tuesday! 😁⠀ ⠀ Yesterday I officially finished all of my practical assessments and my Introduction to Professional Practice module! 🥳 ⠀ ⠀ I had a slight mishap at the beginning of my advocacy assessment yesterday, my applicant didn't show up! Although I had prepared for this eventuality it was still a shock! I was told it was quite rare for another student not to show for their own assessment, however, I had a wonderful examiner who spoke me through the steps and it went fabulously! I was really happy with the result. The Judge was leaning in favour of the applicant initially and I manage to sway their decision and for the matter to go to trial. 👩🏼 ⚖ ⠀ ⠀ Advocacy is certainly a weak point of mine, so I was over the moon with how it went. 👩🏼 💼⠀ ⠀ Yesterday was a learning experience for me, especially in a real exam situation. I had prepared for the applicant not to show, but not as much as I should have. It had also happened to many other students yesterday too. From this experience I have learnt a big lesson - prepare thoroughly for even the rarest eventuality. I had no idea it would happen, and it did! This is certainly the attitude I will be absorbing going forward. ✅⠀ ⠀ In 2 weeks time, I will be sitting the toughest exams I will have taken in my legal journey so far. I am slightly nervous and excited to get them out of the way, and celebrate my birthday afterwards as I have exams during that time! 📝⠀ ⠀ It's been an extremely long and intense 6 months studying the LPC thus far, and I have enjoyed every challenge to date. I have learnt so much and feel I have blossomed at ULaw. 📚⠀ ⠀ This week I can finally focus purely on revision for my 3 core exams, and continuing my firm research in readiness for my interview in 9 days! On the weekend I have a family brunch, then its straight back to my beloved lever arch files and consolidation notes. I cant bear being away from them for too long... 🙄 ⠀ ⠀ Wishing all my fellow LPC students the very best of luck this week with their advocacy assessments and upcoming exams! 📑⠀ ⠀ Have a great week guys.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #TLPTakeover by Kirsty Henton (kirstytakesonlaw ), LPC Student at the University of Law.
