I’ve worked at my job as a paralegal for 2 years, I started during the second year of my LLB law degree and absolutely love it. It’s definitely a lot to juggle but I have amazing managers who understand I’m doing both. I couldn’t recommend getting a job as a paralegal / legal assistant enough during university, I think it definitely helped me secure my training contract and I’ve gained really valuable experience both of office culture / politics as well as all the legal skills I’ve gained alongside it. HOWEVER, if anyone is thinking about getting a paralegal role I’d definitely recommend: ✨ Being super organised. ✨ Be really open and realistic with your boss / managers about when you’re studying, when your lectures are and how many hours you can do. ✨ Ask for plenty of time off during exam season.
