The children receive red packets (or “Lai see”, shown here at the bottom right corner of the image) which are gift money as a new year’s blessing. A very common greeting would be "Kung Hei Fat Choi" which translates as “wishing you a good fortune”. It’s a standard phrase before getting your Lai See. There you have it!
