My grandfather and his brother were both well established lawyers and members of law assembly in the new Pakistan. My father was a judge and member of income tax appellate tribunal in Pakistan, then practiced as a brilliant lawyer after retirement till the time of his demise. Nobody from the family carried forward their legacy, and multiple times in my career I thought I am in the wrong field and should have actually gone into Law. Long story short, abbu tou chale gaye, magar mjhe ye kari kahin jorni thi, ye silsila agay burhaana tha. I started doing LLM in Medical Law and Ethics from England and today I am Master of Laws (LLM) just like my father! Alhamdolillah My journey is still ongoing. I am yet to put this degree to use. But I’m in no hurry. Each moment in itself deserves to be fully appreciated and celebrated because that moment is transient. There I was at my MBBS graduation and then my AKU graduation, worrying about my future and my career. And I might have now achieved what I was aspiring to, but that moment no longer exists, neither do some of the people who made it special. Like my Abbu 💔 who is now no more… So here’s to celebrating each day as is. Without worrying for the future. May I get to celebrate my wins with my Ammi soon. InshAllah. MashAllah. ❤️ #ulawgrad drfatimaimam (@drfatimaimam) posted on Instagram May 16, 2025 13:51
